The treatment process is typically easy to endure.
CT-SIMULATION
Once it’s been agreed to treat you with radiation, you will need to have a simulation study.
Bowel habits will be evaluated by the Nursing staff to decide if a fiber or medication is required to ensure daily bowel movements.
One hour before your CT-simulation study, empty your bladder and rectum completely. Then immediately after that, drink 12oz of water.
Check in for your appointment 30 minutes before your scheduled time and immediately drink another 12oz of water while you wait.
A mold will be made to stabilize your legs while you lie on the CT scanner.
After your scan is complete, three tiny tattoo dots will be placed in the pelvic area.
TREATMENT
Expect to spend 1 – 1 ½ hours at the treatment center each treatment day.

You'll be asked to lie on the tomotherapy treatment table.
